This 3-day-field trip in French and Swiss Jura aims at meeting ex situ conservation professionnals and, through these meetings, to develop a critical thinking about its pros and its limits. The visits at « Parc Polaire » and « zoo de la Garenne » illustrated those missions of communication, education and protection of the European fauna (sometimes for reintroduction purposes). The conferences and the visit of the infrastructures in « Maison de la rivière » in Morges allowed us to discover an original structure mixing academic research, experimental workshop and general public communication on aquatic and terrestrial environment.
