{"id":580,"date":"2018-08-21T15:55:05","date_gmt":"2018-08-21T13:55:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nature-conservation-ubfc.com\/emme\/?page_id=580"},"modified":"2020-11-22T15:55:01","modified_gmt":"2020-11-22T14:55:01","slug":"aie","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.nature-conservation-ubfc.com\/emme\/en\/aie\/","title":{"rendered":"Anthropogenic Impacts on Ecosystems"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Description:<\/h3>\n<p>This unit presents impacts of humans on the biogeosphere from its origins to the present day and the complementarity of different approaches (archaeology, paleoecology, history, ecology, ecotoxicology) to assess anthropogenic impacts on ecosystems and associated services, at different spatial and temporal scales.<\/p>\n<p>This teaching includes 4 main themes :<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle\">\n<li>From hunter-gatherer to intensification of global land use as a process of global change<\/li>\n<li>Different paleoecological proxies for different purposes: paleoparasitology, palynology, subfossil chironomids, chemistry, anthracology, dating proxies<\/li>\n<li>Anthropogenic impacts on habitats, biodiversity and climate<\/li>\n<li>Management and mitigation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Learning Objectives:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Theoretical learning outcomes:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Knowledge and integration of different scientific fields and approaches (archeology, paleoecology, history, ecology, ecotoxicology) allowing identification and understanding of anthropogenic impacts on the biogeosphere, from its origins to the present day.<br \/>\n<strong>Technical learning outcomes:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Understanding and interpreting data coming from various scientific fields and approaches, and integrating these data in a multidisciplinary framework.<br \/>\n\u2022 Integrating different temporal and spatial scales (from geologic to short times, from local to global impacts, linking with the management options of ecosystems) in\u00a0<span style=\"background-color: #ffffff;font-size: 14px\">assessment of <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">anthropogenic impacts.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Teaching Methods:<\/h3>\n<p>Lectures, seminars, practicals.<\/p>\n<h3>Prerequisites:<\/h3>\n<p>Knowledge of biogeochemical cycles (Carbon, Nitrogen, water), population and community structure and dynamics, resource flows within ecosystems, food-web structure and dynamics.<\/p>\n<h3>Assessment:<\/h3>\n<p>Reports on the content of the sessions, oral and written exams.<\/p>\n<h3>Recommended Reading:<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle\">\n<li style=\"font-size: 14px\">Arbogast, R.
