Emphasis will be placed on self-confidence, but also on collaboration and communication between members of the group. Any subject, including non-scientific, can be presented according to everyone\u2019s interests. Thus, the practice of English should be as natural and uninhibited as possible.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify\">Learning Objectives:<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Theoretical learning outcomes:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Extending your knowledge of English (grammar, syntax, spelling).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Technical learning outcomes:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Being able to carry out a scientific presentation in the context of a conference.<br \/>\n\u2022 Presenting orally a subject of their choice (a research work on a subject related to students&rsquo; specialisations and interests).<br \/>\n\u2022 Presenting orally (in English) a scientific publication (published in English).<br \/>\n\u2022 Being able to answer a panel&rsquo;s questions in English and take part in a scientific discussion (ex: during a conference or a \u00ab\u00a0caf\u00e9 scientifique\u00a0\u00bb).<br \/>\n\u2022 Being able to quickly identify key information in a document (ex: video, article) and summarise it in your own words (writing or speaking).<br \/>\n\u2022 Acquiring the basics of writing a scientific article.<br \/>\n\u2022 Using digital communication and linguistic tools.<br \/>\n\u2022 Being able to transcribe, in clear and concise English, scientific information from a document or an oral presentation.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify\">Prerequisites:<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">English knowledge and skills of a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify\">Teaching Methods:<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Seminars<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify\">Assessment:<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Individual evaluation of participation during the sessions (30%), presentation given during a &lsquo;mini-conference&rsquo; (30%), and the TOEIC score (40%).<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify\">Coordinators:<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"background-color: #ffffff;font-size: 14px\">Caroline GOSSELIN,\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"background-color: #ffffff;font-size: 14px\" href=\"mailto:caroline.gosselin@univ-fcomte.fr\">caroline.gosselin@univ-fcomte.fr<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Francis RAOUL, <a href=\"mailto:francis.raoul@univ-fcomte.fr\">francis.raoul@univ-fcomte.fr<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Description: This module is designed to improve the oral and written standard of both general and scientific English in the students.
