This species has been catalogued as Critically Endangered by the IUCN taking into account its reduced extent of occurrence, and the potential threat of the sea\u2010level rise. However, its population dynamic, abundance, reproductive activity and its potential responses to predicted environmental pressures have been poorly studied. This contribution shows the first data about relative abundance, reproduction and ecological requirements of this poorly known Cuban endemic toad. We evaluate the potential effects of current anthropogenic activities and future scenarios of climate change and sea\u2010level rise.
